Some of our customers express concern that an accidentally triggered alarm could cause nuisance noise to their neighbours whilst they are away. There are steps that we can take to prevent or reduce the chance of this happening which we will happily discuss with you.  Many of our alarms have features that help to prevent accidental alerts from being sounded.

Protect Against Neighbours Ignoring Genuine Alarms

Worse still, alarms that are triggered regularly for no reason don’t just irritate people, but can mean that neighbours stop reacting to the alarm entirely.  People become weary of nuisance noise over time, like the story of ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’. Dealing with the problem makes your alarm more effective as well as reducing stress in your neighbourhood.

Badly set up alarms create a lot of false positives and nuisance noise
badgers and foxes can set off perimeter alarms which are set too low

Prevent Animals From Triggering False Alarms

Sensors can be set at heights which are not triggered by foxes and other animals around the perimeter of the building for example.  Pet-friendly alarm systems and beam towers can detect movement of people whilst not being set off by birds etc.

We can also work with you to identify windows, flat roofs etc which present higher risk factors and ensure high security pressure and impact sensors are in place which are designed to detect intruder damage or movement rather than wild animals and pets.

We can also install alarms which only sound externally for up to 15 minutes and then reset themselves ready to protect the property further.

We can also test that linked smoke alarms around your home or premises are in good working order to provide vital protection whilst not being prone to false triggering, preventing disturbed sleep patterns, young children waking unnecessarily and allowing shift workers to rest.
